It has always been one of the dreams of anodisers to obtain harder and more wearable anodic oxide layers without increasing costs. With the addition of newly developed Polytoxal EK 57, it is now possible to increase the hardness of anodic oxide layers (approximately 75-85 MicroVickers harder), to anodize at higher temperatures (around 25 ºC) and lower voltages (about 1-2 Volts lower) and at higher dissolved aluminium concentrations (around 27 g/l). Wearability of the layer is also much improved.
