In particular, our SIGMA plate heat exchangers are best suited for pasteurization processes for the aseptic cold filling of fruit juices, carbonated and non-carbonated  soft drinks, concentrates, syrups and other products with high levels of acidity.

SIGMA plate heat exchangers, as multi-sectioned units with serveral thermal requirements, have been employed in the dairy sector for the first time to achieve a longer stability of milk.

In addition, SIGMA plate heat exchangers are used today for a whole series of heating, cooling and heat-exchange procedures in the dairy economy.

In breweries the plate heat exchanger has been used as standard technical equipment since the introduction of the closed wort routing (a successor of the surface irrigation cooler). Over the years the applications have grown extensively.

Plate heat exchangers are also employed today in breweries for exhaust vapor condensation, yeast cooling, beer deep-freezing, heating of CIP solutions and other thermal procedures.

A classical example of the use of the plate heat exchanger is short-term heating for the thermal stabilization of beer and non-alcoholic drinks.


Typical tasks for SIGMA plate heat exchanger in the brewing industry are:

At a very early stage, the edible oil industry discovered the great advantages of plate heat exchangers and has employed them in many different process steps. SIGMA plate heat exchangers are  employed with particularly high temperatures in this case,
up to approx. 220°C.

Specially developed, asbestos-free, compressed fiber gaskets ensure long-term process safety in these high-temperature applications. For applications in the medium-temperature range, specially developed soft-lip gaskets are available, which can also be supplied in the adhesive-free fixing design.
With our product, all applications in the edible oil industry sector can therefore be covered. Our customers in this sector have relied on SIGMA heat exchangers for decades.


Typical areas of application of SIGMA plate heat exchangers in the prduction process of edible oil are:

The manufactured intermediate and final products are a component part for countless preparations, such as cookies, bars, confectionery, sauces, soft drinks, ice cream, fruit syrups, jams, baked goods, yogurt, babyfood etc. Starch products are also employed in the manufacture of paper and textiles!
